Frankenswine ugly sweater article cover: the Frankenswine character illustration, house title strip

Frankenswine Halloween Sweatshirt: The Frankenstein Pig Experiment Worked

The experiment succeeded. That is the problem. Frankenswine is a faintly green pig with a flat head, two neck bolts and a pair of wings that are far too small for the job, standing in a laboratory among bubbling flasks and waiting for a reaction that has not arrived. Somewhere there is a scientist who has stopped taking questions. Somewhere there is a pig who would like to be told he did well.

Frankenswine Halloween ugly sweater character art: a green Frankenstein pig with a flat head, neck bolts and small wings, standing among bubbling laboratory flasks

A pig, two bolts, and a set of wings nobody asked about

The joke lands twice. First as a monster, because the flat head and the neck bolts are exactly the ones everyone pictures. Then as a pun, because the wings mean this is also the pig that was never supposed to fly, quietly reclassified as possible by somebody with too much lab equipment.

The design is built to be read from across a room. A purple field, a big pale green subject in the middle, orange lightning bolts scattered through the ground, and a row of small skulls marching along the hem. The yoke is a proper snowflake band, which keeps the whole thing on the right side of the line between fair isle and fancy dress.

Printed edge to edge, so the flasks and the lightning run over the shoulders and down both sleeves. The character was drawn as stitches first, so the knit texture is in the artwork rather than laid over the top of it.

The Ugly Rating: 9 out of 10

Every design in our line gets an official Ugly Rating from our Chief Festivity Officer, a capybara whose calm is legendary and whose standards are not negotiable. On our scale, high numbers mean gloriously, spectacularly ugly, the kind of sweater that wins contests and frightens relatives. Low numbers mean the design leans cozy and charming rather than loud.

The CFO has awarded Frankenswine a 9 out of 10, with the official citation: “a monster and a pun in the same animal, which is rare.” A 9 from the duck, whose written note said that most Halloween designs pick either the scare or the gag and this one refuses to choose. That is the highest rating in the Halloween line, and it means the sweater will be photographed at least once by somebody who did not ask permission first.

What Frankenswine comes as

Frankenswine comes in six printed forms, every one made to order in the US, with one flat price per form in every size. There is no knitted Frankenswine: our knitted range is the traditional fair-isle line. Order by October 17 for US delivery before Halloween; after that it keeps printing, because a deadpan ghost works all winter.

Who the pig is for

Buy it for the friend who says a thing will happen when pigs fly and now has to look at one. Buy it for the science teacher, the lab tech, the person whose group chat is mostly bad puns. Buy it for anyone who wants a monster on their chest without committing to a full costume.

It pairs naturally with the rest of the Halloween line for a household, and the pun keeps working in December, which is more than most Halloween knitwear manages.

FAQ

When can I buy the Frankenswine sweater?

Now. Every form is live in the shop, and the VIP list hears about new designs first.

What is the deadline for Halloween delivery?

There is no knitted Frankenswine. Every Frankenswine form is printed to order in the US in three to seven days, then ships standard. Order by October 17 for US delivery before Halloween. It stays orderable after that, and December orders follow the December 11 Christmas cutoff. Our knitted range is the traditional fair-isle line, and that is the range with the November 15 cutoff.

Is there a pet version?

Not yet. Knitted dog versions exist only in the traditional fair-isle range. Frankenswine comes as the sweatshirt, the tees and the couples sets.

Do bigger sizes cost more?

No. One price per product, every size, always. Size surcharges are a scam wearing a size label, and we refuse to run one.

The Festive Folks’ Verdict

Frankenswine is the strongest thing in the Halloween line and the duck agrees. It is a monster, a pun and a properly built fair isle all at once, and it is the one people will still be quoting at you in January.
